Nobby’s Nippers
SATURDAY Nippers at Nobby’s! Where The Fun Of Lifesaving Begins!
First Nipper day for 2024/25 season: Saturday 21st of September
Nippers is aimed at learning about Surf Life Saving and Surf Awareness through Surf Education programs, with an emphasis on participation and fun.
This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning at the beach. Not only will your child have fun and meet new friends, they will become part of an iconic organisation that has served the Australian community for over 100 years.
The nippers program will include surf swimming, surf safety, board paddling, board rescue, beach activities, and basic first aid.

Age Groups
Please refer to last year’s Age Group Quick Reference Guide 2023-2024 to find out the age group for your children. The 2024/25 document is yet to be released, however, just add one year to each age group, e.g. U6 is Oct 2018 to Sept 2019, U7 Oct 2017 to Sept 2018 etc.
The absolute minimum age for a child to join the organisation and partake in Junior Activities is 5 years old (U6), up to a maximum of 13 years (U14) on a seasonal basis.
The age for a season is determined as at midnight on 30 September at the commencement of that season. E.g. A child turns 11 years old before 30 September of that season; that child will be registered in the U12 age group for that season. If a child turns 11 years old after the 30 September of that season, that child will be registered in the U11 age group for that season.
What to Bring
Nipper caps and Pink Hi-vis rashies are compulsory for all Saturday Activities (these are purchased through the Nipper Uniform Shop at the Club).
Water Bottle, towel, hat/cap, and sunscreen.
